Job summary

Deer Meadows Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an Assistant Director of Activities to lead resident-centered programming and engagement. You will develop, implement, and evaluate a diverse calendar of recreational, social, and entertainment activities that enhance well-being.

You will supervise activity staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with nursing, families, and community partners to ensure high-quality programs and meaningful resident experiences.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in activities/engagement roles.
• Strong communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement activity programs that meet resident needs and interests.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of activity staff, providing feedback and guidance.
• Monitor and manage program budgets for efficient resource use.
• Foster relationships with local community organizations and vendors to enhance programming.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Director of Nursing and other department leaders.
