Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks an Assistant Director to lead teaching, student engagement, and corporate outreach for MSBA programs. You will direct multiple tracks, budget expenditures, recruit students, and teach in the MSBA program while mentoring students and coordinating with sponsors.

The role requires excellent communication, proven leadership, and strong public speaking skills, with a focus on building corporate partnerships and capstone projects on a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in business or a technical field.
• Excellent communication skills and proven training / teaching ability.
• Proven leadership or management experience with leadership in academic programs preferred.
• Strong public speaking / presentation skills.
• Proven customer interface skills in a project execution role, business development role, or both.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction of multiple MSBA programs/tracks.
• Budget and track expenditures; marketing and recruitment of new students; teaching in the MSBA program.
• Supervise and evaluate capstone analytics projects; interface with corporate capstone sponsors.
• Mentor MSBA students and coach resumes, cover letters, consulting reports, and presentations.
• Maintain strategic relationships with corporate sponsors to support MSBA activities.
