Job summary

University of Southern California’s Advancement team seeks an Assistant Director, Advancement - Major Gifts to build and manage donor portfolios and drive gifts in the $100K–$250K range. You will qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects while aligning gifts with School priorities.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, collaboration with leadership, and a data-driven approach to fundraising. This hybrid position may require travel and evening/weekend engagements to support donor

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in development, fundraising, or related roles.
Proven ability to build meaningful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

Qualify assigned prospects and manage a portfolio of ~100 prospects.
Develop and implement strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
Conduct donor outreach and visits to advance relationships and solicit philanthropy.
Develop fundraising proposals and donor briefings with leadership.
Identify donor interests and align with School priorities.
Coordinate with partners to advance prospect relationships, solicitations, and stewardship.
Maintain accurate prospect records, reports, forecasts in line with policies.
Achieve fundraising revenue, activity, pipeline, and proposal goals.
