Southern Methodist University seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to oversee graduate and professional programs, determining eligibility and packaging for 5000+ students while ensuring compliance with federal, state and institutional policies.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the role supervises two full-time advisors, partners with academic departments on program development, and enhances Grad FA processes. Evening/weekend work and some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a university financial aid setting.
• Experience with disbursement, awarding, and regulatory policies required.

Responsabilités

• Create financial aid offers, review FAFSA, determine eligibility and packaging.
• Advise potential, current, and graduate students via in-person, phone, email, and virtual meetings.
• Collaborate with faculty and Deans on special needs and program development.
• Manage data for website content and ensure compliance with policies; perform Professional Judgments.
• Supervise two full-time advisors and lead graduate and professional aid activities.
• Attend meetings and trainings; stay current with regulations.
