University Housing within the Division of Student Life invites applications for the position of Assistant Director for Safety, Security, Health and Wellness. The ADSSHW is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive, department wide occupational and residential safety, security and health program, using leading edge concepts to establish and maintain a safe, secure and healthy work and living environment for employees, students, and residents through the identification and correction of unsafe conditions.

The Position : The ADSSHW will develop, implement, and manage policies, procedures and training to specifically address a variety of issues. The ADSSHW also develops and manages criteria for University Housing site safe audits, and conducts routine inspections of facilities.

Qualifications
What We Require
Education : A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or Public Health. CIE certification is required (American Council for Accredited Certification) or obtained within the first two years of employment date.
Experience : a minimum of seven (7) years related managerial experience in industrial hygiene, safety, and health program management, preferably in higher education, public sector, consulting, or manufacturing; six (6) years supervisory and budget management experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Education : Master’s degree in one of the Sciences (i.e. Chemistry), Occupational Health, Safety, Public Health or related field. CIH, CIE, CSP or similar.
Salary : The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a standard university benefits package. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track staff position.
