Job summary

Piedmont Virginia Community College seeks an Assistant Director for the Momentum Scholars Program to lead a comprehensive student success initiative designed to increase college access and completion.

Reporting to the Director of Opportunity, Success, and Achievement, the role coordinates admissions, scholarships, student services, and cohort programs while partnering across campus and with community partners to support diverse students toward timely degree progress.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in student success, advising, retention, enrollment management, scholarship administration, or related areas
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and utilize data
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
• Proficiency with student information systems, Microsoft Office applications, and data management tools
• Experience coordinating programs that support student achievement or administering Promise, TRIO, or retention-focused programs
• Commitment to supporting students from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of the Momentum Scholars Program
• Manage admissions, scholarship eligibility, and student support services

Reporting to the Director of Opportunity, Success, and Achievement, the position manages all aspects of the program including admissions, scholarship eligibility, student support services, cohort programming, and academic progress monitoring. The Assistant Director serves as the primary administrator and point of contact for Momentum Scholars participants, working collaboratively across Financial Aid, Advising, Academic Affairs, and community partners to foster student engagement and timely degree completion.
