Preferred candidates will hold a master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
Position Summary
The Assistant Director for Greek Life will work alongside Greek Life Office staff to support more than 9,500 students who belong to over 65 recognized fraternities and sororities. Reporting to the Director of Greek Life, the Assistant Director will directly advise the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and provide support to the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) and its advisor while assisting with the growth, development and success of the Greek Life community. The Assistant Director will also provide fiscal oversight, lead service and philanthropy efforts, and serve as a key liaison to advisors, alumni, national organizations, and campus partners. This position directly supervises and oversees the work of one Coordinator for Greek Life.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Knowledge of Greek-Lettered Organizations: Strong understanding of the culture, traditions, and operations of Greek-lettered organizations, including governance, recruitment, chapter operations, and programming. Familiarity with national organization policies and campus-based advising practices is preferred.
• Relationship-Building Skills: Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, professional working relationships with stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, national organizations, and house corporations.
• Communication Skills: Proficiency in writing, public speaking, and interpersonal communication, with experience in engaging with students individually and in groups to provide support, advisement, and leadership development.
• Technological Proficiency: Ability to effectively communicate using virtual tools and technology to ensure accessibility and timely information sharing.
• Crisis Response Skills: Capability to respond promptly and appropriately to both routine and crisis situations, ensuring student safety and continuity of operations within Greek housing and broader community contexts.
