Job summary

Roseman University College of Medicine seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to lead advising, compliance, and operations for a growing medical student population. The role guides students from admission through graduation, balancing regulatory requirements with a focus on student success.

You will oversee awarding, verification, and outreach programs, develop educational initiatives, and partner across Admissions and Student Affairs to optimize enrollment and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in higher education financial aid, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience advising students on financial aid, financial literacy, debt management, or related topics
• Experience conducting presentations, workshops, or educational programs
• Experience with Anthology Student Financial Aid or similar enterprise financial aid management systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while exercising sound judgment
• Strong knowledge of federal student aid regulations, policies, and compliance requirements
• Excellent customer service and relationship‑building skills

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized financial aid counseling, debt management guidance, and financial wellness support
• Help students understand borrowing options, budgeting strategies, and repayment planning
• Serve as a trusted resource throughout the student lifecycle, from admission through residency transition
• Lead scaling of financial aid operations as the College grows and review awarding/verification processes
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and student experience, and increase efficiency
• Analyze data and trends to support strategic planning and decisions
• Collaborate with Admissions, Student Affairs and leadership to support enrollment and retention
• Serve as department’s operational lead in absence of the Director of Financial Aid
