Job summary

San José State University seeks an Assistant Director of Field Experience to provide comprehensive program management for credential field experiences across Teacher Education and Special Education. Lead field pod operations, mentor university supervisors, and ensure alignment with the Lurie College’s mission and strategic plan.

You will collaborate with faculty, the Office of Field Experience, and regional partners to strengthen field experiences, update guides, and support mentor teachers

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field with upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing and conflict resolution.
• Four years of professional student services work experience with advising and analysis of complex problems; master’s/doctorate substitutions可.

Responsibilities

• Lead field experience policies and practice alignment with program outcomes and college mission.
• Support student success with a humanizing, transformative approach.
• Collaborate with regional partners on pre-professional experience partnerships.
• Oversee field experiences and supervise university supervisors and mentors.
• Develop and update field guides and MOUs; manage field placements and complaints.
