Job summary

UCP of Maine is seeking an Assistant Director of Facilities to lead and manage building maintenance and facility operations across all locations, including safety and regulatory compliance. You will supervise the maintenance and environmental services team and advise leadership on long-term planning and improvements.

The role requires coordinating preventive maintenance, fire alarm/sprinkler systems, and emergency planning, while ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field required.
• Minimum two years’ supervisory experience in facilities or five years in a related supervisory role.
• General knowledge of state and federal codes related to maintenance functions; ability to research information.

Responsibilities

• Directs maintenance operations (budgets, safety programs, OSHA compliance, site repairs, preventive maintenance, cleaning) to support services on time and within requirements.
• Supervises maintenance and housekeeping staff.
• Conducts periodic inspections of cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and work orders to ensure timeliness and quality.
• Ensures preventive maintenance for water boilers, sprinkler systems, generators, lighting, and building infrastructure is performed.
• Maintains property and vehicle upkeep including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Maintains fire alarm and sprinkler systems with monthly testing and quarterly inspections.
• Schedules and coordinates safety training, fire/Evacuation drills as needed.
• Coordinates all building repair projects.
• Leads the UCP of Maine Safety Committee with HR; addresses facility issues promptly.
• Manages company-wide emergency planning including training, documentation, and compliance.
