Job summary

Columbia University’s Center for Career Education (CCE) is seeking an Assistant Director to coordinate internship programs for Columbia College, The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the School of General Studies.

The role involves counseling students, developing professional development events, and marketing program benefits to the wider University community. Travel nationally to build relationships with employers and alumni is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 2-4 years of related experience in career services, student affairs, graduate recruitment, university relations, and/or marketing experience is required.
• Desire to help students gain internships and other professional experiences; excellent career counseling and program development experience required.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse, small team are required.
• Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office/365, and Salesforce strongly desired.
• Ability to travel on behalf of CCE to develop and maintain relationships with employers and alumni.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Associate Dean of Experiential Education to coordinate student involvement and participation in CCE internship programs.
• Provide individual and group counseling to students engaged in or participating in experiential education programs.
• Develop opportunities to market experiences within the Center and to the wider University community.
• Develop resources and assessments to analyze data and learning outcomes of the program.
• Travel nationally on behalf of CCE to foster employer and academic relations.
