Position Description

Eastern University invites applications for the position ofAssistant Director, Events and Operations/Facilities. Thisrole provides leadership in the oversight, operation, scheduling,and execution of all home athletics contests at Eastern University.This is done in accordance with university, conference, and NCAAguidelines. The Assistant Director of Athletics Events isresponsible for managing all gameday operations hosted by EasternUniversity Athletics. This position will assist the AssistantDirector of Athletics for High Performance & ExternalOperations in the procurement of game contracts and scheduling ofgame officials.

Facilities & Operations Management

Manage thescheduling of all athletic spaces across the St. David’s,coordinating practice schedules for in-season, non-traditional, anddevelopmental teams. Serve as the athletic department’s centraloperations lead for facility upkeep, which includes assisting withthe physical preparation and maintenance of spaces for practicesand competitions, performing minor maintenance, and managing allmain campus facility work requests. In collaboration with theAthletic Director and the Assistant AD of High Performance/ExternalOperations, this role will audit athletic spaces to identify,track, and strategize facility updates and operational issues.Throughout all facility and scheduling duties, the individual isaccountable for modeling a professional demeanor inherent in highereducation and athletics, emphasizing student-athlete mentorship inalignment with the University's mission.

Position Responsibilities
Game Management and Operations (50%)

Serve as the primarygame manager for all home athletic contests, overseeing contestsetup, breakdown, flow, safety, and fan experience. Act as theprimary contact for visiting teams and officials. Coordinate sportcoach coverage for game day responsibilities to ensure equitableassignment distribution. Assist with procuring game contracts andscheduling game officials. Develop game management policies andprocedures.

General Facilities Management and Maintenance (30%)

Serveas the primary contact and operations lead for facility upkeep,maintenance, and main campus work requests. Perform minormaintenance and assist with physical preparation of athletic spacesfor practices and competitions. Audit athletic spaces alongsidedepartment leadership to identify, track, and repair operationalgaps or updates. Create and execute regular preventativemaintenance schedules for campus facilities, game systems, andequipment (e.g., scoreboards, shot clocks, PA systems). Reportfacility needs to ensure NCAA and Conference competition standardsare maintained.

Athletics Scheduling (20%)

Coordinate and schedule allin-season, non-traditional, and developmental practices across theSt. David’s campus. Maintain a fair and equitable distribution ofpractice times for all teams. Collaborate with the broaderUniversity on scheduling outside entities interested in usingEastern Athletics facilities.

Status:

Staff, Salaried, Exempt, 12 months per year.
