Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Director for the Emergency Department in Alabama. You will oversee daily ED operations, staff supervision, and collaboration with leadership to achieve quality, safety and financial targets.

The role requires RN licensure, critical care awareness, and proven leadership in nursing. You will drive excellent patient care, oversight of staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives within a busy hospital ED.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications preferred or required as noted
• Experience leading ED or hospital departments a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily ED operations ensuring patient flow and safe, high-quality care.
• Supervise nursing and support staff; evaluate performance and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with Directors and teams to meet quality, safety and financial goals.
• Coordinate patient throughput, bed management, and staffing decisions during shifts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
