Job summary

Cornell University in Ithaca, NY is seeking an innovative Assistant Director of Engaged, Experiential, and Entrepreneurial (E3) Career Development to design and lead career development and experiential learning initiatives for CALS students. You will oversee study abroad, CALS Global Fellows, and other international programs, collaborating with faculty and staff to connect academics to career readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years’ experience in career services, student services or related field/department or equivalent combination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proactive approach to work responsibilities.
• Proven ability to navigate complex projects with all stakeholders.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people.
• Project management skills, ability to bridge academics, students and experiences.
• Experience working independently while supporting the efforts of the overall team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influence skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities.
• Experience modeling values that support inclusion, belonging, and wellbeing.
• The ability to advocate for individuals from a broad range of backgrounds.
• The ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative career development and experiential learning programs, including domestic and international opportunities that connect students' academic experiences with career readiness.
• Lead and oversee existing and newly developed programs, including study abroad, study away, CALS Global Fellows, and other engaged learning opportunities.
• Advise students on career development and provide guidance to students exploring or participating in E3 programs and experiential learning opportunities.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff across CALS to develop, implement, and strengthen engaged and experiential learning programs.
• Evaluate program feasibility, effectiveness, and impact, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Partner with the CALS Director of Career Development on strategic planning, program development, and initiatives that advance student career readiness.
