Job summary

The Learning Experience – Cascade in Cascade, MI is seeking an Assistant Director to join our leadership team and help oversee daily operations while supporting teachers, families, and licensing compliance.

You’ll work with the Center Director to recruit and coach staff, ensure safety standards, implement the LEAP curriculum, and promote enrollment growth and exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or early childhood education program.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan childcare licensing requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Center Director to oversee daily center operations
• Ensure compliance with Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety regulations
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and coach teachers and support staff
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and daily operational needs
• Conduct classroom observations and support teacher development
• Help implement LEAP Curriculum with consistency and quality
• Build strong relationships with families through exceptional service
• Conduct tours and assist enrollment growth and retention
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork and excellence
• Support community outreach and local marketing initiatives
