Job summary

Ball State University Foundation in Muncie, IN, seeks an Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship to strengthen donor engagement and manage high-level stewardship for major gifts. You will lead personalized stewardship initiatives and reporting, coordinating experiences for donors and collaborating with campus partners to advance Ball State's philanthropic mission.

The role requires strong project management, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-impact tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in event management, public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field.
• A minimum of two years of experience in donor relations, annual giving, marketing, event planning, alumni engagement, project management or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work with campus partners, colleagues, volunteers, and/or clients both digitally and in person.
• Experience planning and executing university and/or non-profit events.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently while maintaining confidentiality and time management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to donor relations and stewardship plans to increase donor retention year over year.
• Develop and implement personalized stewardship plans for assigned donors based on interests and giving history.
• Plan and execute exclusive experiences to deepen donor connections with the university.
• Deliver robust personalized fund and beneficiary reports with narratives and visuals.
• Use Raiser's Edge NXT to document donor stewardship and engagement.
• Assist with managing the foundation’s leadership annual giving society and related events.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders such as development officers, faculty, and staff.
• Stay current on trends in donor relations, stewardship, and recognition.
