Position Summary

NYU’s Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Director, Development Events in the Development and Alumni Relations team (DART) within the Stern School of Business. Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Assistant Director will plan, develop, and manage all aspects of high-level development events that meet the departments’ strategic goals and are designed to cultivate or strengthen NYU Stern’s relationships with donors and prospective donors. They will effectively implement bespoke and signature, donor-centric events and gatherings throughout the year, facilitating all aspects of event administration including facilities, participant communication and vendor relations and payments. The Assistant Director will work closely with other members of the Development, Donor Relations and Event planning teams within the School and across the University for management of large-scale events. They will conceptualize themes, present ideas, research requests, assess feasibility, and make recommendations to ensure the implementation of successful, targeted events; research vendors, options, pricing structures, etc. They will project expenses; supervise volunteer staffing, and determine equipment needs; conduct post-event evaluations, and recommend future improvements. They will project manage all aspects of event planning, implementation, and follow up to creatively and consistently steward prospective and current donors.

Qualifications

Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ relevant experience planning and implementing special events or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to $84,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
