Job summary

Benchmark Human Services in Indiana is seeking an Assistant Day Services Director to lead and administer our day programs for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will supervise staff, plan activities, and ensure quality service delivery in a community and facility setting.

The role emphasizes compliance, safety, and partnership with families and community resources, with a focus on fostering independence and inclusion for participants.

Qualifications

  • Valid Indiana Driver's License is required.
  • Experience working with participants with developmental disabilities.
  • Three years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain an environment of organization, support, and a meaningful day for participants.
  • Provide vision and leadership for department in planning and implementing community and facility-based, age-appropriate activities for participants.
  • Act as building supervisor and oversee proper use of building, and overall maintenance, security, and cleanliness of building.
  • Provide supervision; determining staffing needs, staff selection, training, performance/incentive reviews, and disciplinary action.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled required training and staff meetings.
  • Ensure proper group sizes by establishing and maintaining a daily scheduling system.
  • Maintain quality client files by completing required file audits and providing guidance on required documentation.
  • Routinely monitor facility programming and make community visits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and program standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations and Benchmark policies.
  • Collect and report data related to Departmental goals.
  • Coordinate with community resources to provide a variety of quality activities for participants.
  • Promote and market the program by establishing professional relationships with families and case managers.
  • Report reasonable suspicion of a crime to authorities as required.
  • Actively participate in director and departmental meetings and other required meetings.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain an environment of organization, support, and a meaningful day for participants.
  • Provide vision and leadership for department in planning and implementing community and facility-based, age-appropriate activities for participants.
  • Act as building supervisor and oversee proper use of building, and overall maintenance, security, and cleanliness of building.
  • Provide supervision; determining staffing needs, staff selection, training, performance/incentive reviews, and disciplinary action.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled required training (SAT, MANDT, and other departmental trainings) and staff meetings.
  • Ensure proper group sizes by establishing and maintaining a daily scheduling system.
  • Maintain quality client files by completing required file audits and providing guidance on required documentation.
  • Routinely monitor facility programming and make community visits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and program standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, CARF standards, Medicaid Waiver, permits and licensing requirements, as well as policies and procedures of Benchmark.
  • Collect and report on data related to Outcome Measurement Departmental goals.
  • Coordinate with community resources in order to provide a variety of quality activities for participants.
  • Promote and market the program by establishing professional relationships with families, Case Managers, Behavioral Consultants, and other potential referral sources.
  • Reasonable suspicion of a crime against an ICF/MR resident must be reported to Indiana State Department of Health and Law Enforcement (Elder Justice Act).
  • Actively participate in Director and departmental meetings, Management Rally, committee meetings, state association meetings, state sponsored meetings, and other meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License
  • Experience working with participants with developmental disabilities required.
  • Experience in a Day Service setting preferred bachelor's degree in related field
  • Three years supervisory experience required
