Join a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as an Assistant Director, Communications for our Operational and Internal Comms department. This position is hybrid, and you will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The Assistant Director, Communications serves as a key operational lead for UChicago Medicine's Internal & Operational Communications function. Working closely with the Director of Operational & Internal Communications, this position develops and executes communication strategies that support organizational priorities, operational readiness, workforce engagement, and strategic change across UChicago Medicine and the Biological Sciences Division. This role oversees enterprise communication channels, editorial operations, communication governance, and publication workflows while serving as a trusted communications consultant to operational leaders. The Assistant Director combines strategic thinking with exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills to deliver timely, high-quality communications and continuously improve how information is shared across the enterprise.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
