University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Safety/Environmental Compliance Associate to lead development and implementation of campus occupational safety and health programs. You will oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and coordination with researchers, farm managers, and facilities teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and five years of safety experience, with CSP/CIH or OSHA credentials preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health, safety engineering, or a closely related field.
• Five years of professional work experience in a safety or compliance related field.
• Valid State of Illinois driver’s license at the time of hire, maintained throughout employment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform risk assessments in campus locations for physical, chemical, ergonomic, psychological, and biological hazards and report findings with corrective actions.
• Supervise and direct others in program development and service delivery, reviewing work for quality and timeliness.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the fire extinguisher program, including work orders, inventory, and inspections.
• Plan and implement campus occupational safety and health programs and adjust policies based on feedback and audits.
• Coordinate incident investigations and OSHA reportable injuries, review injury data, and suggest corrective actions.
• Prioritize budget needs for safety programs and report on metrics, gaps, and improvements.
• Support continued safety initiatives, liaising with faculty and regulators, and travel between sites as needed.
• Perform other duties including supporting university values and serving on safety committees.
