Job summary

The Mandel JCC of Palm Beaches in Boynton Beach, FL seeks an Assistant Director of Family & Youth Engagement and Camp Shalom to lead Camp Shalom operations and oversee Kindergarten–5th grade programs. You will partner with the Director to plan and execute diverse youth activities, ensuring high-quality family engagement and seamless day-to-day execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Kindergarten–5th grade programs or youth development.
• Demonstrated leadership in camp or afterschool settings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Assistant Director of Camp Shalom, second-in-command and chief of staff for camp operations.
• Maintain working knowledge of Camp Shalom programs, staffing, camper care, and logistics.
• Support planning, decision-making, and execution with the Director, leading operations when needed.
• Oversee camp programming, daily ops, and staff support to ensure high-quality experiences.
• Own operational leadership and problem solving for programs and events.
• Lead planning, development, and execution of School’s Out Day programs (K–5).
• Oversee marketing, registration, enrollment, billing, and family communication for School’s Out Days.
• Develop and manage after-school enrichment programming for K–5 with diverse activities.
• Oversee staff/vendor recruitment, marketing, enrollment, scheduling, and logistics for enrichment.
• Plan and execute Kids Night Out programming for K–5, including staffing and family communication.
• Grow and manage Birthday Party programs, handling inquiries, scheduling, and on-site execution.
• Collaborate with the Family & Youth Engagement Coordinator to support Club J and daily programs.
• Develop and implement family programs to strengthen community engagement.
• Provide cross-department support to ensure strong communication and execution.
• Uphold safety and JCC policies across programs and families.
