Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as Assistant Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business and/or finance, with proven experience in career services, particularly in delivering high-quality career coaching to students and alumni. The role involves managing the Business & Entrepreneurship Career Exploration Community (CEC), providing comprehensive career coaching, supervising student leaders, connecting students with alumni Career Advocates, and developing industry-specific programming.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide career coaching to undergraduate students in the Business & Entrepreneurship CEC.
  • Assist students and alumni with exploring careers and making career decisions.
  • Support internship, job, and graduate/professional school applications, including resume development, networking, and mock interviews.
  • Serve as a pre-professional advisor for all pre-MBA students, collaborating with faculty advisors.
  • Build relationships with faculty and develop communication and programming strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of the Business & Entrepreneurship CEC, including recruiting student leaders, developing programming, and building alumni relationships.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and educate the campus community.
  • Document coaching sessions in Handshake.
  • Manage a student portfolio, ensuring regular outreach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Centre Finance Club and other campus organizations.
  • Connect students with alumni mentors for career guidance and opportunities.
  • Lead presentations on career readiness topics.
  • Attend and support campus events related to the CEC and CCPD.
  • Represent the college at external events for prospective students, parents, alumni, and employers.
  • Travel and work evenings/weekends as necessary.
  • Foster an inclusive environment respecting diverse backgrounds.
Marginal Functions
  • Serve on college committees and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, career development, counseling, psychology, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience in career services or related fields.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong communication and empathy skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Familiarity with career management platforms (e.g., Handshake), MS Office, and social media.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

  • Limited physical activity; lifting up to 20 lbs.; campus mobility required.
