Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Bioengineering Services is seeking an Assistant Director to lead the Bioengineering Department in procuring and delivering biomedical equipment and services. You will set annual goals to support the growth and development of bioengineering in response to current and future needs while serving as the administrative on-call contact.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in biomedical engineering or related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with biomedical equipment or healthcare technology.
Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and healthcare regulations.
Ability to plan, organize, and implement policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate technical principles to non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

Direct activities of the Bioengineering Department in the selection, procurement, and delivery of biomedical equipment and services.
Develop annual goals and objectives to support growth and development of bioengineering.
Serve as administrative on-call contact and lead multiple Bioengineering teams.
Participate in safety, compliance, and policy committees (LCISE, EOC, HCIS).
Provide cost of ownership analysis and budget input for equipment maintenance and service contracts.
