Job summary

Premier Childcare Center Old Bridge is seeking an experienced, organized Assistant Director to support daily operations, educational quality, and overall success of the school in Central New Jersey.

The ideal candidate balances administration, staff leadership, family communication, licensing compliance, and classroom support, working hands-on to mentor teachers and maintain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, and/or at least three years of management experience in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Strong understanding of childcare operations, licensing requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable mentoring teachers and working directly in classrooms when needed.
  • Dependable, proactive, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a willingness to support all areas of school operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Education Coordinator, supporting curriculum implementation, classroom quality, and instructional consistency across the school.
  • Mentor and coach teachers, provide classroom guidance, and step into classrooms as needed to support quality and coverage.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and organized student and staff records.
  • Support state licensing compliance, including required documentation, binders, inspections, and recordkeeping.
  • Conduct school tours and support family enrollment, onboarding, and new-student transitions.
  • Coordinate new staff onboarding and orientation, ensuring required documentation and training are completed.
  • Communicate professionally and confidently with families, teachers, prospective parents, and staff.
  • Ensure classrooms and common areas remain organized, welcoming, and tour-ready at all times.
  • Prepare and coordinate monthly newsletters, calendars, menus, announcements, and family communications.
  • Assist with planning and execution of school events, celebrations, and staff meetings.
  • Support front-office operations, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and assisting families and visitors.
  • Partner with the Director on staffing, scheduling, classroom coverage, and overall daily school operations.
  • Maintain flexibility to support both opening and closing responsibilities based on the needs of the school.
