Job summary

The University of Chicago Career Advancement program seeks an Assistant Director to lead career initiatives for undergraduates with interests in entrepreneurship, startups, and AI. You will design and deliver programs, advise students, and expand access to career opportunities across campus.

Based primarily on our Hyde Park campus in Chicago, this in-person role requires occasional evenings, weekends, and travel 2–3 times per year to support events and employer engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of professional experience.
• Experience in tech, business, AI, or startups.
• Experience in design and delivery of programs; partnerships; project management; administration.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to be highly flexible, adaptable, and comfortable shifting priorities on short notice.
• Demonstrated success in maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
• High degree of professionalism when interacting with internal and external constituents.

Responsibilities

• Lead career initiatives for students interested in entrepreneurship, startups, AI, innovation, and related fields.
• Design, administer, and execute programs that expand students’ professional skills and access to career opportunities.
• Cultivate partnerships to generate internships, research collaborations, networking events, and other experiences.
• Advise students individually and in groups on career exploration and recruiting support.
• Maintain and build a portfolio of employers to support internships and full-time opportunities for Colleges students.
