Job summary

Alfred University seeks an Assistant Director of Accessibility Services to ensure equitable access for students with disabilities. You will coordinate accommodations, provide coaching, and promote universal design while collaborating with faculty and staff to reduce barriers to success.

The role supports retention and student success, maintains a caseload, and serves as a campus resource on accessibility, assistive technology, and inclusive teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.
• Master’s degree in School Psychology, Education, College Student Development, or related field preferred.
• Experience with working with the college student population is desirable, but other experiences will be considered.
• Highly organized and motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong data analysis and assessment skills.
• Interest in academic success in higher education, program design, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the interactive process for accommodations, intake appointments, documentation review, eligibility, and renewals.
• Manage caseload with ongoing case management, advocacy, and support.
• Coordinate housing accommodation requests with Residence Life and partners.
• Maintain confidential student records compliant with ADA, FERPA, and institutional policies.
• Monitor accommodation utilization and suggest improvements to services.
