As a leading non-profit provider in Milwaukee County, we’re committed to fostering curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning for children—while creating a supportive, professional environment for our team.

Our Assistant Directors play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, supporting staff and families, and maintaining the highest level of care and education. If you’re a detail-oriented, people-focused leader ready to make an impact, we’d love to have you on our team!

About the Role:

You’ll provide hands‑on leadership to staff, assist with center operations, and help maintain compliance with all state and organizational standards. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow in leadership while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, families, and educators.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support daily center operations, ensuring smooth workflows and compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, families, and children to create a welcoming and supportive community.
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting teachers, fostering professional growth and high-quality educational practices.
  • Help implement our ELM (Early Learning Matters) curriculum and ensure alignment with our E.P.I.C. Curriculum.
  • Collaborate with leadership on scheduling, staffing, and center activities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for families, addressing questions, concerns, and celebrating successes.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and well‑equipped center that supports learning and exploration.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including documentation, compliance, and reporting.
What We’re Looking For
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • Previous experience in an early childhood education setting, preferably in a leadership or administrative role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for supporting children, families, and staff.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Clear background check, health screening, and TB test.
