Respite is regular, temporary breaks from caregiving duties for the caregiver to rest, relax, recharge, and practice self-care. Respite is an essential practice that keeps families together by protecting the physical, mental, and emotional health of the caregiver.
The SC Respite Coalition works to help family caregivers get the breaks they need. We educate about the necessity of respite and refer to services, programs, and funding sources that can assist them in planning and taking regular time off from their caregiving responsibilities.
