Job summary

Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager to support the Dietary Department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing culinary services for residents. The role assists the Dietary Manager in operations and ensuring high-quality meals.

The position requires sanitation, nutrition screening, and coordination with nursing staff to meet residents' dietary needs. Serving residents, verifying trays, and maintaining recipes are key duties.

Qualifications

• ANFP certification preferred
• If not certified, must obtain ServSafe within 3 months and ANFP within 1 year of employment
• A Diet Technician, Registered (DTR) will also qualify for placement as Dietary Manager
• One or more years experience in a skilled nursing environment strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for food purchase, production and timely service of meals.
• Maintain sanitary kitchen environment and ensure food safety standards are met.
• Maintain standardized recipes adjusted to the size of the facility.
• Check trays for accuracy, garnishments and overall appearance before delivery.
• Observe residents' food intake and communicate information to the Dietary Consultant and/or Director of Nursing.
• Visit residents to conduct initial nutrition screening, explain diet, and record food preferences.
• Complete appropriate clinical record documentation and assess nutritional needs per care plan.
