Job summary

Edenbrook Platteville, part of the Eden Senior Care Network, is seeking an Assistant Dietary Manager/Cook to support the Dietary Manager in delivering nutritious meals for residents. The role requires leadership in a kitchen environment, staff training, and adherence to recipes and budgets.

Ideal candidates will hold ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain) and at least one of the listed certificates (CDM, CFSP, or Certified Food Manager).

Qualifications

• Must be ServSafe Certified or willing to obtain.
• Must have at least one of the following certificates: CDM, Certified Food Service Protection Certificate, or Certified Food Manager.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily production list.
• Ensure stations are stocked before and during meals.
• Verify recipes and portion control.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen, dish, and storage areas.
• Place food and supply orders as directed.
• Receive and verify invoices and freshness of merchandise.
• Hire and train staff to company standards.
• Provide excellent customer service and lead by example.
• Participate in management team activities.
• Oversee staffing levels under supervision of Director of Food and Beverage.
• Manage kitchen labor and food cost within budget.

Position: Assistant Dietary Manager/Cook

Kitchen Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily production list
• Ensure that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period
• Verify that kitchen staff follows all recipes and portions servings correctly
• Keep kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organized
• Place food and supply orders as directed
• Receive product, then verify the invoice and freshness of merchandise
• Hire and train employees to company standards
• Set excellent customer service and work examples
• Actively participate as a member of the management team
• Manage staffing levels throughout shift under the general direction of the Director of Food and Beverage
• Oversee kitchen labor and food cost to budgetary requirements

Requirements:

• Must be ServSafe Certified or willing to obtain
• Must have at least one (1) of the following certificates:
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
• Certified Food Service Protection Certificate
• Certified Food Manager
• Customer service orientated
• Experienced in long-term care preferred
• Able to communicate well in both verbal and written forms
• Committed to interacting professionally and with care toward residents, families, and other staff
