Job summary

Sugar Grove Senior Living, part of Vista Senior Living Management, seeks an Assistant Dietary Director to lead dining operations in a compassionate senior living setting. The role emphasizes high-quality meals, safety, and resident satisfaction, reporting to dining leadership within Sugar Grove Senior Living.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, dietary services experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care, and a passion for hospitality in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in dietary services within senior living or healthcare dining.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care dining preferred.
• Strong focus on resident experience and hospitality.
• Experience with event planning and special dining events preferred.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with email and basic office apps.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; ServSafe preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Assistant Dietary Director

Work Schedule

Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Occasional evenings or weekends may be required to support operations

Sugar Grove Senior Living is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Dietary Director to support the daily operations of our dining services department. This leadership role assists in ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have previous dietary services experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for serving seniors in an Assisted Living and Memory Care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily management of dining services operations
• Support the supervision, training, and scheduling of dietary staff
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with menu execution, food quality, and resident satisfaction
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering food and supplies
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and dining environment
• Collaborate with leadership and care teams to support resident dietary needs
• Help foster a positive, team-oriented culture within the department

Qualifications

• Previous dietary, food service, hospitality, or senior living experience required
• Previous supervisory, leadership, or department coordination experience preferred
• Experience in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, Senior Living, or healthcare dining strongly preferred
• Strong interest in resident experience, hospitality, and elevated dining services
• Experience with event planning, themed meals, or special dining events preferred
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with email and basic office applications
• Comfortable using computer systems for ordering, scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• ServSafe Certification preferred or ability to obtain
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and staff
• Ability to balance hands-on dining operations with administrative responsibilities
