Macy's is seeking an Assistant Designer to join the Design Team in New York. This role supports the design process from research to presentation, helping align with Private Brand direction and market trends.

You will learn Macy's design culture, collaborate across departments, and develop skills with Adobe and CLO programs while assisting in creating and distributing tech packages and development samples.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Retail/design internships preferred.
• Flexibility in schedule based on department and company needs.

Responsabilités

• Develop understanding of category, trend, and customer preferences.
• Support design team by aligning with Private Brand direction (materials, trims, silhouettes, colors, patterns).
• Contribute to product strategy and merchandise objectives through design development.
• Prepare presentation materials and set-up for design-led meetings.
• Assist in in-season design changes for the department and vendors.
• Summarize action points in cross-functional meetings for the manager.
• Collaborate with the people leader to meet deadlines and manage workload.
• Create flat mechanical sketches for development packages and participate in tech packages.
