Job summary

S. Rothschild & Co., Inc. is seeking a junior design assistant to support the VP of design in developing the line.

The role involves assisting in all aspects of the design process from creating prototypes to showroom samples, and organizing and prepping a showroom for market. The position requires hands-on experience in apparel design, garment construction, and development, with the ability to create detailed tech packs for overseas factories, and digital layouts for embellishments and prints

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the apparel design, garment construction and development process.
• Proficient in creating detailed tech pack development for overseas factories and spec knowledge using Excel.
• Experience creating digital layouts for embellishment and prints using Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Very detail oriented and organized.
• Efficient in sketching by hand and on a computer.

Responsibilities

• Assist VP of design in development of the line.
• Assist in design process from proto to showroom samples, and prepping showroom for market.
• Create tech packages including embellishment layouts, print placement, etc.
