The JCPenney Nautica design team in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Designer to support the development of apparel collections from concept through production. You will collaborate closely with the design and technical teams to execute concepts while maintaining brand aesthetics, quality, and timelines.

Responsibilities include creating tech packs, assisting with mood boards and line reviews, and communicating with overseas vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 0–2 years of design or product development experience (internships included).
• Portfolio required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing seasonal concepts and color palettes aligned with brand direction.
• Create and update tech packs with measurements and construction details.
• Liaise with Merchandising, Technical Design, and Production teams to ensure design intent.
• Organize design files, BOMs, and reference libraries.
