Job summary

American Society of Interior Designers is seeking an Assistant Designer to support design and product development across Ready-to-Wear, Swim, Homeware, and accessories. This in-office role emphasizes detail, collaboration, and brand storytelling.

You will assist with tech packs, fittings, sourcing, and showroom tasks while contributing to collection development and trend research. Travel is not required, but flexibility for on-site tasks may arise.

Responsibilities

• Support artwork and print development for RTW, swim and homeware
• Assist in designing products across categories following brand vision
• Prepare tech packs, patterns, and production files
• Participate in fittings and sampling; communicate updates with factories
• Assist with material sourcing and factory scouting
• Support photoshoots production, including scouting and on-set assist
• Research seasonal trends and contribute to collection development
• Maintain measurement libraries and ensure sample quality
• Assist showroom tasks, shipping/receiving, and occasional retail support
• Travel for factory visits and brand-related needs
• Provide general support to CEO and design teams as needed
• Assist in photoshoots

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Assistant Designer to support our design and product development teams across Ready-to-Wear, Swim, Homeware, and accessories. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and brand storytelling. Please note: this position is required to be in-office, and hybrid or remote alternatives are NOT offered at this time.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support artwork and print development for RTW, swim, and homeware
• Assist in designing products across all categories following brand vision
• Help prepare and organize tech packs, patterns, and production files
• Participate in fittings and sampling; communicate update with factories
• Assist with material sourcing and new factory scouting
• Support photoshoot production, including scouting and on-set assistance
• Research seasonal trends and contribute ideas for collection development
• Maintain measurement/size libraries and ensure sample quality standards
• Assist with showroom tasks, shipping/receiving, and occasional retail supportTravel for factory visits, artisan research, and brand-related needs
• Provide general support to the CEO and design/production teams as needed
• Assist in photoshoots

Skill & Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or related fields
• Fashion design degree or equivalent training preferred but not required
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and production processes
• Proficiency in managing tech packs, patterns, and spec sheets
• Understanding of trend research and seasonal development
• Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with global manufacturers and artisan cooperatives
• Passion for craftsmanship, sustainability, and ethical production
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed for on-site development and production follow ups
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
