Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a dedicated department supervisor to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a safe, clean store environment in Bend, Oregon. You will help achieve department sales and profit goals while directing daily operations and supporting associates.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication skills.
• Basic math abilities including counting, addition and subtraction.
• Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure.

• Candidates must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering product questions.
• Gain knowledge of department products to answer questions and suggest items.
• Understand store layout and locate products efficiently.
• Educate department associates about promotions and store ads.
• Maintain security measures and company standards (EAS).
• Stay current with ads and promotions, including seasonal ones.
• Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.
• Plan and supervise inventory processes.
• Respect store hours and shift schedules.
• Demonstrate merchandising creativity.
• Prepare products in assigned sections per policy.
• Perform cashier duties as needed and follow all controls.
• Ensure compliance with merchandising, customer service, labor, safety and loss prevention rules.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Report accidents and safety risks to management.
• Report any theft, fraud or illegal activity.
