• POSITION TITLE: Assistant Deli Manager
• DEPARTMENT: Deli
• REPORTS TO: Deli Manager
• FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for the performance and supervision of all Deli Clerk responsibilities.
• Responsible for enforcing all company policies in the absence of the Deli Manager.
• Manage the overall operation of the Deli Department when the Deli Manager is unavailable.
• Greet all customers and be observant of their needs.
• Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Supplemental Job Functions

• Assist the Deli Manager in monitoring local conditions and competitive activity related to the Deli Department.
• Assist with cooking and preparing all foods.
• Manage the operation of the hot foods cases.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required

• At least one year of experience in the supermarket industry.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers and vendors.
• Ability to unload, transport, and arrange merchandise in designated areas.
• Dexterity in hands for slicing and preparing deli products.
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lbs) up to twenty percent (20%) of the time.
• Exposure to extreme heat and cold, up to twenty percent (20%) and thirty-two degrees (32°F) respectively, of the time.
