Essential Job Functions

• Supervise all Deli Clerk responsibilities and performance.
• Enforce company policies in the absence of the Deli Manager.
• Oversee the overall operation of the Deli Department during the absence of the Deli Manager.
• Greet customers and observe customer interactions.
• Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Supplemental Job Functions

• Assist the Deli Manager in monitoring local conditions and competitive activity related to the Deli Department.
• Assist in cooking and food preparation.
• Manage the operation of hot food cases.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

• At least one year of experience in the supermarket industry.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for interacting with customers and vendors.
• Ability to unload, transport, and properly store merchandise.
• Dexterity for slicing and preparing deli products.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (lbs) up to 20% of the time.
• Exposure to extreme heat and cold, up to 20-30% of the time.
