Overview of Responsibilities
As the Assistant Deli Manager, you play a crucial role in helping customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service and leading one of the busiest teams in our store.
- Assist the Deli Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
- Responsible for ordering, inventory control, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team.
- Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
- Lead a team to brainstorm and deliver high-quality products, exceptional service, and a memorable customer experience.
- Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Deli team.
- Handle store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, and ensure team awareness and adherence.

Qualifications
To qualify as an Assistant Deli Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old, with a preferred 2 years of supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service.
- Be dependable and flexible, able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be a team player.
- Display outgoing and friendly behavior, with a positive attitude, capable of interacting with customers, taking orders, and answering phones.
- Prove leadership ability to motivate and maintain staff, with knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, sales, and financial goals.
- Possess attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure compliance with all regulations for product freshness, safety, weights, measures, and sanitation.
- Be organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Be capable of lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs. and standing for up to 8 hours per shift.
- Operate deli equipment safely and assist in maintaining it.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
