Job summary

Snoqualmie Valley School District is seeking an Assistant High School Debate Coach to support the Head Coach in developing students' public speaking, critical thinking, research, and teamwork through debate activities.

The position involves planning, leading practices, and teaching debate formats, with additional duties including tournament prep, mentoring students, and coordinating with staff and families. Schedule includes after-school sessions and some evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Public speaking, critical thinking, research, argumentation and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Coach in planning and leading practices.
• Teach debate formats and strategies to students.
• Assist students with research and preparation, and provide constructive feedback.
• Support tournament preparation and participation.
• Supervise and mentor students, communicate with staff and families.
• Foster a positive, inclusive and academically focused team environment.
• Follow directions of Head Coach and assist with transportation, supervision during competitions.
