Job summary

LaGuardia Community College seeks an Assistant Dean for Workforce Development to lead ACE, oversee a portfolio of vocational training, contract training, and upskilling programs, and secure funding from federal, state, city, philanthropic and employer sources.

The role reports to the Vice President for Adult and Continuing Education, requires significant leadership and fundraising expertise, and aims to expand programs across healthcare, trade, tech, and emerging sectors to improve economic

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's degree and eight years of related experience.
Executive leadership experience in workforce development or higher education.
Strong fundraising, grant writing, and partnership development experience.
Experience managing programs funded by federal, state, city, philanthropic, and employer-based sources.
Knowledge of workforce development systems (WIOA, TAP, Pell, Perkins, NYS DOL).

Responsibilities

Initiate, lead, manage, and assess non-degree vocational training programs within ACE.
Lead fundraising and resource development for workforce programs and student support.
Initiate and manage partnerships with employers and employer intermediaries, such as unions.
Oversee financial planning, budget development, forecasting, reporting and compliance.
Oversee program enrollment, marketing, and communications.
Establish operational goals, metrics, accountability systems, and continuous improvement.
Participate in ACE senior leadership team and contribute to initiatives.
Expand revenue-generating contract training and workforce initiatives.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and funding regulations.
Provide leadership for programs funded from diverse sources.
Maintain expertise in workforce development policies and funding mechanisms.
