Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine seeks an accomplished scientist or clinician-scientist to serve as Assistant Dean for Translational Research and Commercial Innovation.

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Research, the Assistant Dean will work with SOM leadership, VCU TechTransfer, and external partners to catalyze collaboration across disciplines and accelerate technology development toward real-world impact.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/MD-PhD or equivalent terminal degree.
• Current School of Medicine faculty appointment at Associate Professor or Professor.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the SOM's strategic vision for translational research, innovation, and commercialization.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen the translational research pipeline and accelerate movement of discoveries from bench to bedside.
• Foster a culture of entrepreneurship and collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance innovation outcomes.
