Job summary

Quinnipiac University invites applications for an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, a 12-month position with 50% FTE commitment. The role leads student support, advising, and wellbeing initiatives within the Office of Student Affairs and collaborates with School of Medicine leadership to foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment for medical students.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in undergraduate medical education and demonstrated experience advising, mentoring, coaching, or supporting medical students.
• Knowledge of medical education continuum, residency applications, and LCME accreditation standards is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written and presentation skills with ability to engage students and staff professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic, professional, and personal guidance to medical students and assist with challenges affecting progress.
• Lead and support programs for student advising, mentoring, and career development.
• Collaborate with faculty, course leadership, and university resources to promote student well-being and success.
• Develop resources and faculty training to improve advising quality and consistency.
• Support program evaluation, accreditation needs, and continuous quality improvement.
