Job summary

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks an Assistant Dean for Curriculum, Pre-Clerkship in Academic Affairs to lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the M1/M2 medical curriculum.

The role collaborates with regional deans to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and educational outcomes, overseeing curriculum development, evaluation, and scholarly activity on the Peoria campus.

Qualifications

• MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) or PhD/EdD degree.
• Minimum of five years of experience in the education of medical students, including some involvement in M1/M2 curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the development, implementation, innovation, and evaluation of the undergraduate pre-clinical curriculum by working with department heads/chairs, course directors, staff and individual course faculty.
• Discuss program evaluation of M1/M2 curriculum with students and faculty to bring about curricular improvement.
• Serve as liaison on local and college curriculum committees as a representative of academic affairs Peoria.
• Collaborate with assistant deans/associate deans locally and across the college to develop and implement policies and procedures regarding the M1/M2 curriculum aligned with accreditation standards, guidelines, and educational outcomes.
• Participate in regional and national presentations and other scholarly activities to highlight Peoria campus work.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
