Job summary

HDR is seeking a Datacenter Assistant Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design teams and support client development for data center projects. Under a senior PM, you will plan, design, and deliver projects from conception through completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in site programming, planning, design, construction, or commissioning, with PE or RA and PM credentials preferred. Travel up to 50% locally and regionally is expected.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • 5 years related experience in project planning, design, construction or commissioning.
  • Strong interaction with design teams; excellent organizational, PM and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work of multi-discipline teams from start to close under supervision of a PM.
  • Deliver projects on budget and schedule; manage a small to mid-size scope.
  • Collaborate with PM, Accounting, Ops and Leadership for reviews.

Role Description

Datacenter Assistant Project Manager role with a focus on client development and delivery of data center projects. The ideal candidate should have a background in successfully delivering projects with experience in upfront planning and pre-design activities through detail design, construction support, or commissioning. This person will work under the direction of experienced Project Managers to manage multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver quality projects from conception to completion.

This position is an opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest growing, and comprehensive Tech, Media, and Telecom (TMT) practices in the industry. In addition to managing and delivering projects (primary focus), the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience, and charisma needed to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand HDR’s reputation within these markets. Keen focus on organizational skills and follow-through are required. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate work of single or multi-discipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), under supervision of a Project Manager
  • Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project
  • Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
  • Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference given to local candidates
  • 5 years related experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
  • PMP certification
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Field, and Bluebeam
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be a plus)
  • Good working knowledge of Google communication products (gDrive, Chat, Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplined teams of Architects, Engineers, and Designers
  • Availability to frequently travel locally to project locations (~50%) and regional sites as needed (<10%)
  • Experience or ability to become proficient in using Revit
  • Healthcare, Data Center, Science and Technology and/or Mission Critical facilities experience
