HDR is looking for a Data Center Assistant Project Manager to join our Building Engineering Services team in Denver, Colorado. Our team serves Science and Technology, Mission Critical and Commercial projects and is actively seeking candidates with experience in mission-critical environments. This role includes mentoring and training younger staff and supporting project managers in coordinating design teams and delivering projects from initiation through completion.

Responsibilities
  • Support project managers in coordinating design teams and assisting with project delivery from initiation through completion.
  • Coordinate and work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, marketing members, and all other team members.
  • Maintain client relationships and manage team members through all phases of the project (proposal/fee development, site feasibility reports, construction documents, and construction administration).
  • Demonstrate passion, work ethic, self-motivation, and strong leadership to deliver technically excellent design solutions.
  • Primary Duties:
    • Join one of the largest, fastest growing TMT (Tech, Media and Telecom) practices in the industry.
    • Support project coordination and assist with project delivery with strong organizational skills.
    • Manage multi-disciplinary design teams from concept to completion and ensure follow-through to meet project goals.
  • Team development: mentor, organize, and facilitate the growth of staff.
  • Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Support mission-critical staff recruiting and retention.
  • Marketing and proposal support: establish client relations and contribute to fee proposals and scopes of work; promote HDR and collaborate on development strategies and new business opportunities.
  • Technical: ensure product deliverables meet quality standards and lead project teams to successful delivery; manage quality, schedule, scope, and budget; oversee forecasting, invoicing, and contract management; assist with proposal content and client interview/presentations; coordinate with local office leads and subconsultants; implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the project lifecycle; monitor financial aspects and adjust efforts to meet budget and schedule.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Travel: Some travel to job sites or other HDR offices may be required, with advance notice.
Qualifications

  • Must take ownership of assignments and work independently and as part of a large project team.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction and/or commissioning.
  • Previous Data Center/Mission Critical experience in architectural/engineering or engineering consulting is desired.
  • Strong desire to stay current with trends in the fast-paced mission-critical industry.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams; excellent organizational, project management and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and/or ProjectWise Document Management Software.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in a related field and 5 years of related experience.
  • Active participant in HDRs employee-owned culture is essential.
