ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Customer Experience Manager is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Promotes excellent customer relations by instilling positive customer-focused behavior with associates. Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns promptly and professionally. Focuses on continuous improvement and implements changes accordingly.
- Assists the Customer Experience Manager in overseeing all front-end operations and performs their duties in their absence. May assume full responsibility for store operations if management is absent.
- Enforces cash handling controls and security measures to prevent losses. Adheres to all policies, including laws related to Anti-Money Laundering, tobacco and alcohol sales, lottery, and others. Oversees bookkeeping procedures.
- Supports customer experience associates with transactions such as giving change, checking prices, voids, refunds, etc. Conducts audits on cashiers.
- Assists in onboarding, training, and evaluating store associates to ensure efficient checkout experiences. Implements new programs, recognizes performance, and participates in reviews. Utilizes LMS for training.
- Uses auto-scheduler systems to manage associate schedules, ensuring optimal coverage and meeting business demands while controlling labor costs.
- Controls supply costs and maintains adequate inventory levels for supplies like bags.
- Manages customer flow at the front end, ensuring sufficient checkout lanes are open to minimize wait times. Monitors breaks and lunches to maintain service quality.
- Oversees lot attendant services, operates checkout equipment, and performs all checkout procedures efficiently.
- Assists customer service with phone inquiries, makes necessary announcements, and maintains equipment functionality.
- Communicates promotions and sales to cashiers, promotes sales through suggestive selling, and participates in daily huddles.
- Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, promotions, and store layout to assist customers effectively.
- Ensures safety and sanitation in parking lot, entrances, and checkout areas. Maintains cleanliness and health standards.
- Supports overall department and store functions by cooperating with team members and seeking continuous improvement.
- May assist with other duties such as cardboard baling or receiving deliveries, if trained.
- Utilizes all provided PPE and may be called upon to assist in other departments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises all associates within the department. May assume leadership of the entire store in the absence of management, depending on store size and staffing.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Supervisory experience preferred.
