Reinhart in La Crosse, WI seeks an Assistant Credit Manager to join the Finance Department and work with Divisional Credit Managers and Corporate Credit Underwriting. This role offers exposure to a core finance function and growth within the organization.

You will monitor accounts, assess credit risk, and coordinate approvals while ensuring compliance with policy. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent
• 1–3 years credit and collection experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
• Post-offer background and drug test required

Responsibilities

• Serve as a highly motivated leader and quick thinker with the ability to interact with diverse personalities
• Review routine collection matters and evaluate customers on credit hold; document activity
• Identify accounts receivable risk and mitigate to reduce loss exposure
• Monitor short pays, skipped invoices and credits to address promptly
• Maintain awareness of state and federal regulations affecting credit practices
• Coordinate credit approvals with underwriting staff and sales leadership
• Work with Cash Application to ensure accurate posting and balancing
• Prepare recurring and special credit reports for management
• Assist with monthly credit decks and bad debt reserve budgeting
• Present Lunch and Learn sessions; maintain excellent communication and organization

A Brief Overview

The Assistant Credit Manager is a member of the Finance Department and will work in conjunction with the Divisional Credit Managers and Corporate Credit Underwriting. This position provides a great opportunity to gain exposure to a key function at Reinhart and grow within our organization.

What You Will Do

• Serve as a highly motivated leader and quick thinker that possess the ability to interact with a host of different personalities.
• Review routine collection matters, and daily evaluate customers on credit hold. Document account activity on the Collection Note System.
• Proactively identify accounts receivable risk and take necessary steps to mitigate. Timely and efficient collection, in accordance with established company policy and procedures in order to reduce loss exposure.
• Monitoring of short pays skipped invoice and credits issued to ensure these items are addressed in a timely manner.
• Maintain awareness of State and federal regulations affecting credit practices, bankruptcy, and collection activity. Gather and document due diligence information and make term and credit recommendations on credit requests.
• Coordinate credit approvals on new and existing accounts with the Corporate Underwriting staff, Regional Credit Manager, and the Divisional Sales Force.
• Work in conjunction with the Cash Application Department to ensure accurate posting of all cash and other forms received, and related balancing is completed timely and accurately.
• Gather data and prepare recurring and special reports for the Regional Credit Manager.
• Rotation opportunities of preparing the monthly credit deck, tracking credit card margins, assisting the Corporate Asset Recovery Manager and preparing the Bad Debt Reserve Budget.
• Present Lunch and Learn sessions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized, detail orientated and capable of multi-tasking.
