This role supports the County Maintenance Manager by helping manage maintenance operations across an assigned area of the county. As an Assistant County Manager, you will perform the following duties:

• Operational Planning: Prepare plans and estimates for paving, treatment, widening, patching, bridge upkeep, guide rail, signing, and snow removal
• Resource Allocation: Recommend the best use of equipment, manpower, and materials to accomplish program goals
• Field Oversight: Check work in progress and completed work for policy, quality, and plan compliance
• Stakeholder Relations: Meet with employees, unions, officials, and property owners to explain operations and resolve concerns
• Process Improvement: Support development of improved work methods, materials, and complaint handling
• Safety Leadership: Promote safe practices and encourage awareness of work area conditions to prevent incidents

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS).
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Three years as a Highway Foreman 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of technical experience in highway maintenance or highway construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• This positionrequires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
