Job summary

The Fashion Institute of Technology provides an opportunity for an Assistant Coordinator, International Programs to support FIT’s semester and short-term study abroad programs. In this in-person role, you will advise students, manage visa documentation, coordinate applications, and collaborate with international partner institutions and FIT departments to ensure successful program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information and guidance to students regarding FIT study abroad programs, application procedures, registration, passports, visas, and related requirements.
  • Advise students on available semester and short-term study abroad programs through email, telephone, and in-person appointments.
  • Communicate with students regarding application requirements, deadlines, registration, and emergency notifications.
  • Assist with inbound and outbound student orientations and re-entry events.
  • Coordinate administrative processes for semester and short-term study abroad programs, including inbound and outbound student applications.
  • Coordinate study visa applications by advising students on requirements, collecting and reviewing documentation, and assisting with technical or procedural issues.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy records for study abroad, exchange, and visiting international students.
  • Prepare reports and information for the Dean for International Education.
  • Protect student privacy and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Communicate with liaisons at partner universities abroad to administer programs, advise students, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with relevant FIT departments regarding applications, course registration, approvals, transcripts, billing, and student records.
  • Collaborate on marketing and communications initiatives promoting FIT study abroad programs, including website and social media content.
  • Provide rotating reception, front desk, telephone, and walk-in coverage.
  • Assist with website updates and maintenance.
  • Perform special assignments and other duties as assigned by the Dean.

The Assistant Coordinator, International Programs provides administrative and program coordination support for FIT's semester and short-term study abroad programs. The position advises students throughout the study abroad application process, coordinates student records and visa documentation, communicates with international partner institutions and FIT departments, and supports program orientations, communications, and related International Programs activities.

Essential Functions
Study Abroad Advising & Student Support

Job Requirements

Salary

Salary: $76,915.17 per year

The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring Salary: $76,915.17 per year per Salary Schedule 93.

Work Schedule

Days/Hours: M-F, 35 hours per week, in person; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.

This is a temporary position for the Fall 2026 semester with an end date of 12/31/2026.
